Interest in the utilization of biological control agents for agricultural pests has largely increased due to the many advantages. Paige's research will be looking at a native Ontario (wingless!) Hemiptera species; Hoplistocelis pallescens, to determine if this species can be used as an effective biocontrol agent in Canadian greenhouses. Since Hoplistocelis pallescens is also understudied, she hopes to shed some light on some of the unknowns.
